Interceptive Treatment

Interceptive Treatment

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that every child be evaluated between the ages of 7 and 9 years old. At that early age, it’s possible to determine if there are issues related to the child’s growth or tooth positions that should be addressed sooner rather than later. Early, interceptive treatment can be recommended to correct crossbites, underbites, extreme crowding, impacted permanent teeth, under or over developed jaws that affect the profile and bite, and constricted airways.

With early treatment, we can take a less invasive, preventative approach. Addressing development concerns while the bones are growing gives us the ability to avoid more invasive approaches in the future.

For kids who don’t need early treatment, we’ve created our Growth & Guidance program. We’ll see kids at least once a year, at no charge, to monitor their growth and determine the right time and options for treatment. Plus, they will learn great habits that will help them maintain a healthy, beautiful smile throughout their life.
Adult Ortho

Adult Ortho

We tend to think of braces as being for kids, but this is not the case. About 30 percent of all orthodontic patients are over the age of 21. The look of braces can be concerning for adult patients. We offer discreet options that make adults more comfortable than conventional ones. These include clear braces, ceramic braces, clear aligners, and lingual braces.

We welcome patients of all ages in our orthodontic practice. Give us a call for more information on how we can transform your smile!
Clear Aligners

Clear Aligners

Clear Aligners are an innovative approach to straightening teeth! You can get a beautiful smile with straight teeth without braces in many cases. Dr. Deukmedjian will submit a digital scan of your teeth along with photographs and working closely with his technicians, Dr. Deukmedjian will develop a sequential digital treatment plan which will result in a series of clear plastic trays. Each set of trays is typically worn 18+ hours per day and are changed every 7-14 days. Beautiful results can be achieved in about the same time as with braces. Since the aligners are removable, there are no restrictions to your diet or oral hygiene. They are very inconspicuous and comfortable and require less appointments than braces.
TMJ

TMJ

The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) connects the jawbone to the skull. TMJ disorders often cause discomfort in the cheek, jaw, or ear areas and can affect normal jaw function. In less severe cases, TMJ disorders can be treated with self-managed care (eating soft foods, using ice packs, avoiding extreme jaw movement) or nonsurgical treatments (anti-inflammatory medications, Botox™ injections, or stabilization splints.)

In addition to these treatments, orthodontic treatment can be used to gradually move teeth to correct misaligned bites so that the teeth on both arches meet correctly. Once the bite has been adjusted to improve both the function and alignment of the jaw, the tension in the jaw joint should be greatly reduced or eliminated and any TMJ or TMD symptoms you may be experiencing should ease.

Botox
Botox is a safe and non-surgical treatment used to help relax the muscles of the face to erase fine lines and wrinkles. Botox is also used to reduce gummy smiles, alleviate TMJ/grinding pain, and help cure certain types of migraines. When done correctly, Botox can give natural results that makes you look and feel younger.

Juvederm
Dermal fillers are composed of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found in the body, that is added to the lips or folds of the face to correct facial volume loss seen over the years. It is a non-surgical alternative to plastic surgery that can last 9 months to a year! It is a very popular option used to achieve aesthetic lip symmetry and offset the loss of volume around the mouth caused by decreased dental support.
